Is artificial grass fire-resistant?

Please keep fire and hot objects away from Royal Grass® artificial grass (or any other artificial grass brand). Royal Grass® is made of a high-quality synthetic material that does not burn. However it will melt when it comes into contact with fire and hot objects. The sand from a sand-filled artificial lawn has an extinguishing effect and is fireproof.

Open fire and hot objects must be avoided on artificial grass. Royal Grass® is made with premium synthetic fibres that will not catch fire. However the fibres can melt when they come into contact with hot objects. Under normal circumstances there is no need for you to be worried that your artificial lawn will catch fire.

Open fire can be dangerous when your artificial lawn is exposed to it for a long period of time. As long as your grass has a layer of sand as infill, this sand infill will prevent the fire from spreading plus it will actually extinguish the fire. Only artificial grass with sand infill is tested to be fireproof!
